Flylogs FCOM

Welcome to the main help and information resource for Flylogs.

Welcome to the Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) for Flylogs. It explains how to set up, configure and use every part of Flylogs, from creating your company account to running flights, schedules, training, maintenance and safety reporting.

This manual is updated continuously as new features are released. Each change is announced in What's new, and the matching reference page is linked from there.

Who this manual is for

Flylogs is used by different people in an operation, so start with the section that matches your role.

  • Company administrators and managers: setting up the company, creating users and bases, configuring settings, billing and API access. Start with the Quick start guide and Company Management.

  • Pilots and students: logging in, reviewing your schedule, flights, documents, certificates and training. Start with Getting started for pilots.

  • Flight dispatchers and schedulers: planning flights, publishing schedules, checking duty and flight time limits. See Schedules and Flights.

  • Flight instructors and training managers: building courses, scheduling classes and exams, and evaluating students. See Training courses.

  • Mechanics and aircraft managers: aircraft records, logbooks, maintenance plans and work orders. See Aircraft.

  • Safety and compliance managers: safety reporting, documents and audit trails. See SMS and Documents.

  • Developers and integrators: connecting your own software to Flylogs. See the API section and API keys.

Start here

If you are new to Flylogs, follow these steps in order:

  1. Create or join an account. Companies sign up with Company sign up. Pilots and students are invited by their company, as described in How to log in.

  2. Check that your device works. Review the supported browsers and requirements and make sure you can reach the site.

  3. Secure your account. Set a strong password and enable two-factor authentication, see Account security.

  4. Configure your company (companies only). Follow the Quick start guide to set units, time zones, duty limits, bases, aircraft, users and trainings in the right order.

  5. Choose how you want to be alerted. Set up your alerts in Notifications.

Good to know

  • Your role decides what you can see and do. If a menu or button is missing, your account may not have that permission. Ask a company administrator. See Account types.

  • Flylogs needs an internet connection. It runs in your browser. Some forms can be filled in without a connection and synced later, see Offline flight data and Offline safety reports.

  • Time zones and formats are set per company. Check them in Company settings before entering data, so flights, duty times and reports are calculated and shown correctly. See Quick start guide.

  • Dark mode follows your device by default, and you can pin light or dark in your account settings. See Usage requirements and tips.

Getting help

  • In the app: use the red support button in the top navigation bar to report a bug, ask a question or request a change. Your current page is attached automatically. See Contacting support.

  • Questions about the manual: if a page is unclear or out of date, tell us through the support button and mention the page.

  • Stay up to date: What's new lists every new feature and fix, newest first.
