# Flylogs FCOM

Welcome to the main help and information resource for Flylogs.

Welcome to the **Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM)** for Flylogs. It explains how to set up, configure and use every part of Flylogs, from creating your company account to running flights, schedules, training, maintenance and safety reporting.

This manual is updated continuously as new features are released. Each change is announced in [What's new](/fcom/whats-new/whats-new.md), and the matching reference page is linked from there.

## Who this manual is for

Flylogs is used by different people in an operation, so start with the section that matches your role.

## Start here

If you are new to Flylogs, follow these steps in order:

1. **Create or join an account.** Companies sign up with [Company sign up](/fcom/first-steps/company-sign-up.md). Pilots and students are invited by their company, as described in [How to log in](/fcom/first-steps/how-to-login.md).
2. **Check that your device works.** Review the [supported browsers and requirements](/fcom/first-steps/usage-tips.md) and make sure you can reach the site.
3. **Secure your account.** Set a strong password and enable two-factor authentication, see [Account security](/fcom/first-steps/account-security.md).
4. **Configure your company** (companies only). Follow the [Quick start guide](/fcom/first-steps/quick-start-guide.md) to set units, time zones, duty limits, bases, aircraft, users and trainings in the right order.
5. **Choose how you want to be alerted.** Set up your alerts in [Notifications](/fcom/first-steps/notifications.md).

## Good to know

* **Your role decides what you can see and do.** If a menu or button is missing, your account may not have that permission. Ask a company administrator. See [Account types](/fcom/company-management/account-types.md).
* **Flylogs needs an internet connection.** It runs in your browser. Some forms can be filled in without a connection and synced later, see [Offline flight data](/fcom/flights/offline-flight-data.md) and [Offline safety reports](/fcom/sms/offline-safety-reports.md).
* **Time zones and formats are set per company.** Check them in Company settings before entering data, so flights, duty times and reports are calculated and shown correctly. See [Quick start guide](/fcom/first-steps/quick-start-guide.md).
* **Dark mode follows your device** by default, and you can pin light or dark in your account settings. See [Usage requirements and tips](/fcom/first-steps/usage-tips.md).
